The traditional process of hand block printing on textiles, with rich natural colours, has been practiced in Rajasthan for around 500 years. The art of block printing has been passed down for generations within families and communities. Each colour pattern is stamped individually onto the fabric and sometimes one design can use up to 5 blocks. The process takes skill and time and the the slight irregularities are charming because it's handmade. We use hand block prints on our clothes cos we love this method of printing. It is also in a danger of dying out because of cheaper methods of printing.
